Our collaboration
Together with the online video technology provider nexx.tv, we have realised the vision of a long-term cloud strategy for UFA. The first step was to migrate the entire archive from our own data centre to the Microsoft Azure cloud platform.
In addition to the low operating costs and high availability of the entire archive, the decisive advantage is the Microsoft application centred around Cognitive Services, which includes 25 services for image, audio, text, speech and emotion recognition, for example. Archive content is automatically captured and tagged with keywords for improved searches.
In the second step, the archived films and series could also be monetised in the form of video on demand (VoD) offerings.
