In the US only 45% of the age group 14 and older watch their TV content live. In the younger age group of 14 to 25 the percentage is even lower at 28%. This young age group also consumes most of their video content on computers, tablets and smartphones (60%).
So, TV sets are out and live webcasting and broadcasting are out as well. Live only remains attractive for certain sports and news events. For the first time the majority of viewers now consumes primarily on-demand content and mostly on computerized devices.
